Guide
Using Your MacBook Outdoors
More brightness can help outdoors, but glare and heat also affect readability.
- Shade the screen and avoid direct reflections where possible.
- Try a light appearance with clear, high-contrast text.
- On a validated XDR panel, Lumi can request an extended brightness target. Available output still depends on conditions.
- If the Mac gets hot or output falls, move somewhere cooler and reduce the target.
Lumi’s beta is currently tested on a 14-inch M2 Pro MacBook Pro. Nit values are estimates, not a measure of outdoor visibility.
Your MacBook Pro. Brighter.
A native brightness beta for the built-in XDR display. Nits are estimated targets; other hardware still needs testing.
