What Does a 2,000-Nit Target Mean?

A peak target is not a promise of sustained 2,000-nit desktop brightness.

Three separate numbers

A display’s SDR rating, sustained full-screen HDR rating and peak HDR rating describe different conditions. A peak figure cannot be used as a sustained full-screen specification.

Lumi’s current status

An OLED profile may show a 2,000-nit target. Physical OLED output has not been validated with Lumi. The tested 14-inch M2 Pro mini-LED panel instead has a 1,600-nit peak target.

What the slider tells you

It shows a selected estimate. Actual light output depends on the panel, content and conditions and requires a colorimeter to measure.
