OLED Brightness: What Is Verified?
Lumi has an OLED profile, but physical OLED validation is still outstanding.
A profile is not a measurement
An identified OLED panel may expose a 2,000-nit peak target in Lumi. That does not prove the app can produce that luminance, sustain it across the screen, or behave correctly on both MacBook sizes.
Current test scope
The beta has been tested on one 14-inch M2 Pro MacBook Pro with a mini-LED XDR display. Other panels and macOS versions need validation before broader support is claimed.
Peak and sustained output
Peak HDR, sustained full-screen HDR and ordinary SDR are different ratings. Lumi does not promise sustained 2,000-nit output. Actual luminance requires a colorimeter and recorded test conditions.
